ALABASTER — The southbound lanes of Interstate 65 have been closed while emergency crews work to clear a wreck, according to a post on the Alabaster Police Department’s Facebook page.

As of about 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19, the right lane and right emergency lane of I-65 southbound are closed in the area of mile marker 235, just north of the Shelby County Airport, the post read.

These lanes will be closed for an extended period of time. The APD will post an update to its Facebook page when all lanes are open.
