Delmore John Matzke, age 86, of Alabaster, passed away Friday, Aug. 31.

Private family graveside service at Pinelawn Gardens.

Mr. Matzke was a Korean War Veteran. He was a mechanic in the Air Force and worked as a mechanic until he retired.

Mr. Matzke is preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jean Matzke, and grandson, John Matzke.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Joiner and Patty Cofer (Billy); sons, J.R. Matzke (Lisa) and David Matzke (Mitzi); brother and sisters, Dale (Gail), Marlene, and Corrine “Cookie”; and grandchildren, Jason Matzke, Brooke Matzke, Brittany Wyatt (Jason), Heather Masters (Lee), Chad Elliott, Alex Matzke and Austin Matzke.
