ALABASTER – A comedian well-known for his standup routine and popular Youtube.com video series “How Bama fans watched” will be holding a show at Alabaster’s new Thompson High School in late September, the school system recently announced.

The comedian Jermaine “Funny Maine” Johnson will be performing in the THS performing arts center at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, while raising money for the Thompson High School and Thompson Middle School cheer programs.

Johnson has gained widespread fame over the past few years through his Youtube series, which provides humorous recaps of the weekend’s University of Alabama and Southeastern Conference football games from a Bama fan’s perspective.

Tickets to the event for students are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, and tickets for adults are available for $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

To purchase tickets in advance, visit Acsboe.org/Domain/10 and click the “eSchool Payments” link near the bottom right of the page. From there, scroll down to the “Funny Maine Comedy Show” option to place ticket orders.

The Funny Maine show will mark the second major community event hosted in the new THS performing arts center since it was completed a few months ago. The venue is hosting an Alabama Symphony Orchestra performance on the night of Sept. 18.
