LINDEN –Injuries and illnesses continued to plague Cornerstone Christian School in a 24-7 loss at Marengo Academy on Friday, Oct. 5.

Tanner Falkner scored on a 15-yard run for Cornerstone in the first quarter, but the Chargers could not score anymore.

Added to injuries that had been sustained by key players earlier in the season, two Cornerstone defenders became sick the day of the game and could not participate.

“When you’re as young as we are and you lose one or two, it makes a big difference,” Coach James Lee said. “The kids played hard. They gave every bit of effort they had.”

Lane Bailey and Justus Adams led the Chargers on the defensive side of the ball, Lee said.
