Waitr, a popular food delivery service app, will expand its services to Alabaster, Pelham and Helena after success in Birmingham prompted another expansion.

The Waitr app lets a customer order from their favorite restaurant, then sends a Waitr driver to deliver it to the customer for a flat fee of $5. The food delivery service will debut with an official launch on Thursday, Oct. 11.

Waitr is the top food delivery service in the Birmingham area with more than 75 percent of restaurant deliveries going through Waitr. It now has more than 250 area restaurants using the service.

Top restaurants in Alabaster, Pelham and Helena that have already signed up with Waitr include Chubbfathers, Full Moon Bar-B-Que, Cream & Cones, Cantina Grill, Cake Art Italian, Sarris Café and McAlister’s Deli.

“We’re very proud to be the number one food delivery service in Birmingham and are thrilled we can keep adding service to the surrounding areas,” Market Development Director for Waitr Whitney Savoie said. “From Birmingham, Hoover and now to Alabaster, Pelham and Helena, Waitr is here for everyone.”

Savoie said customers rave about how convenient Waitr is to use, as well as its more favorable pricing – specifically the $5 delivery flat fee. Other features include live monitoring of deliveries and full-color photography of every menu item.

To celebrate the expansion, Waitr will be hosting a launch party at Full Moon Bar-B-Que on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. Waitr is encouraging everyone to come out and be part of the city’s launch and meet the local team. Attendees at the free party can expect tasty appetizers, cold drinks and cool “swag” items to take home with them.

Full Moon Bar-B-Que is located at 470 Colonial Promenade Parkway in Alabaster.
