HELENA – Before the Helena High School varsity football team took the field against Carver Birmingham to win its third straight game the night of Friday, Oct. 12, parents and fans had a chance to celebrate homecoming festivities by getting in the spirit with a homecoming parade.

For the first time, the homecoming parade took place on the campus of Helena High School at 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 12.

The Helena High School marching band, cheerleaders, dance team members, the homecoming court and more participated in the parade as spectators lined Hillsboro Parkway closest to the high school to cheer and take photos.

The parade route began at the school entrance closest to Coalmont Road, went down around Helena Middle School and back up to the entrance of HHS near Husky Stadium.

Other homecoming activities for students included a dodgeball tournament, video game tournament and trivia tournament on Thursday, Oct. 11, followed by a powderpuff football game.

In the game against Carver, Helena shutout the Rams 16-0 on their way to an impressive homecoming win.

The 2018 Helena High School homecoming queen was Anna Grace Walley and Kyle Beckham was crowned homecoming king.
