Hoover Hayride event to be held a day early, on Oct. 24

HOOVER – Due to anticipated inclement weather, the annual Hoover Hayride and Family Night event has been moved up a day.
Originally scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 25, the event will instead be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
As of Tuesday, Oct. 23, forecasts called for an 80-percent chance of rain on Oct. 25, with near a quarter of an inch of rainfall and winds from 10-15 miles per hour.
The Hoover Hayride will still be held at Veterans Park off Valleydale Road.
The free, family-friendly event will feature hayrides around the park, candy and treats provided by Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce members, face painting, balloon artists and a variety of food vendors, among other attractions.
Parking will be available at Spain Park High School with shuttles provided to the event.
