NORTH SHELBY – Five festively decorated Highland Lakes homes will once again be featured as part of the Highland Lakes Women’s Club’s annual Holiday Home Tour.

This marks the third year for the event, to be held on Dec. 8 from 1-5 p.m.

Each year just gets better, according to HLWC President Terry Marlowe.

“We are really excited about this year’s tour,” Marlowe said. “We not only have five gorgeous homes to showcase, but we also have partnered with some great local businesses.”

Fran Stainback, this year’s tour chairwoman added, “We could not hold a successful event like this without the gracious and generous support of our homeowners and local merchants.”

Visitors to this year’s tour will be treated to light refreshments from Piggly Wiggly Dunnavant and can enjoy a holiday gift shopping experience provided by Shelayne’s Botanicals and Cahaba Lily South.

Other partners include Decorating Dixie, The Yoga and Therapy Center, The Mercantile, RD Design, and Lisa Lester, Interior Decorator.

All proceeds from the tour will go to support local charities. The Highland Lakes Women’s Club has chosen two groups that help local school children.

Backpack Buddies, an organization that combats childhood hunger by providing weekend backpacks filled with food to Shelby County school children in need, will be a recipient as well as the Mt Laurel Elementary School’s special fund, a discretionary fund used to provide for the basic needs for children in the Dunnavant Valley area.

Admission to the event is by ticket only. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Cahaba Lily South or by contacting Stainback at 401-8219 or franstainback@gmail.com, or Marlowe at terrymarlowe@yahoo.com.
