Several Shelby County schools will be starting their day later than usual on Tuesday, Dec. 11, thanks to icy travel conditions due to temperatures falling into the upper 20s after last night’s rain.

Right now, the two school systems operating on a two-hour delay are Shelby County Schools and Alabaster City Schools.

Both school systems will also have their buses running on a delayed schedule and breakfast will not be served.

If any other delays are announced we will keep you updated, as well as if any closings happen.
