Dan Thomas Prim, a native of Siluria, and current resident of Mobile, died Thursday, Jan. 10 at the age of 87. He was born on June 13, 1931.

Dan was a US Army Veteran and retired as store manager of Baer’s Department Store after 54 years of service. He was a member of Snow Road First Baptist Church, served as Deacon since 1955 and Sunday School Teacher for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Ranson Prim and Lillie Bell Lowery Prim.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 63 years; Betty Gail Fisher Prim; his canine companions, Mr. T and Lae Lae; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Dr. Paul Montalva, were held Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family received friends at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment followed at 1:30 p.m. in Alabama State Veterans Memorial Park in Spanish Fort.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations in Mr. Prim’s name be made to: Snow Road First Baptist Church, 2370 Snow Road North, Semmes, AL 36575.
