Melvin Clifton King, Sr., age 76, of Vincent, born in Meridian, Mississippi, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15.

He is survived by his wife, Kay King; daughters, Leslie Burdine, Lori Gerstler (Glen), Lynn McCoy, and Michelle Rogers (John); son, Melvin King Jr. (Melissa); sisters, Maxine Land and Teresa Moore; brothers, Daniel King, Johnny King, Kenneth King, and Kermit King; grandchildren, Kayla Sanchez Hawkins (Isaac), Haley Williams (Anthony), Sara Gehring (Aaron), Jamee Burdine, Timothy Marks, Thomas McCoy, and Mikey McCoy; seven great grandchildren; and a very special friend, his dog, Charlie.

He was preceded in death by parents, Max Earl King and Mary Alice King, and sister, Patricia Ford.

A memorial service in Michigan will be announced at a later date.
