The Shelby County Arts Council invites everyone to the Celebration of the Arts Luncheon on Feb. 23 to support its community outreach efforts.

Each year the Culture, Novella and Vignette Federated Women’s Clubs of Columbiana gather together to host this fundraising luncheon.

Money raised supports the SCAC outreach programs such as ArtAbilities, which provides art and music lessons to students with special needs at county schools at no cost to the school; Writing our Stories, a program which provides three local middle schools with a creative writing program through the partnership with the Alabama Writers Forum; and art classes to at-risk youth at the Juvenile Detention Center.

The luncheon doors will open at 10 a.m. on Feb. 23 at First Baptist Church of Columbiana.

Attendees will have the opportunity to shop the art sale, with all work donated by local artists, and meet some of the SCAC instructors.

This year’s luncheon is catered by The Fish Market, and there will be live entertainment by local singer Austin Foster.

Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at Shelbycountyartscouncil.com. Reserved tables for eight people are also available for $250.
