Two arrested on felony drug charges

COLUMBIANA – Two local men were arrested on felony drug trafficking charges April 3.

Dennis Robinson and D’Rico Youngblood were arrested after the Columbiana Police Department, with assistance from an officer and canine from the Calera Police Department, executed search warrants at two separate locations during a narcotics raid, according to a Columbiana PD press release.

Robinson, 54, of Wilsonville was charged with trafficking cocaine, selling and distributing cocaine, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree.

Robinson is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

Youngblood, 23, of Columbiana was charged with trafficking cocaine, selling and distributing cocaine and unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree.

Youngblood is being held in the Shelby County Jail on a $272,000 bond.

“I would like to commend my officers for their hard work during this investigation, and Calera Police for the use of their officer and canine,” Columbiana Police Chief Lamar Vick wrote in the release. “This investigation so far has yielded the arrest of two persons, the seizure of over 33 grams of ‘crack’ cocaine, over 3 grams of marijuana, various drug paraphernalia and five firearms and ammunition that were in the possession of convicted felons. These investigations continue.”
