Charles Erskine Baxley

Charles Erskine Baxley peacefully passed away Thursday, May 30, at the age of 90.

His services will be held Saturday, June 1 at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). Visitation will be from noon – 2 p.m. with the funeral service following at 2 pm. Burial will be at Shelby Memory Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Faye Baxley; children, William Malone (Ruth), Cynthia Poole (Greg), and Michelle Malone Cain; grandchildren, Liam Malone, Angus Malone, Coleman Poole, Caleb Poole, Jordan Poole, Angela Croushorn (John), Sarah Stewart, Allen Charles Cain; and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Luise Palmer, and his brother, James William Baxley.

He was a member of the Calera Church of Christ and a life-long Christian man who devoted his life to the service of God. He was also a veteran of the Korean War, and he retired from South Central Bell in 1989.
