Raymond Samuel Hutchison, age 78 of Maylene, passed away Tuesday, June 4, at his residence.

He was born in Shelby County on Jan. 5, 1941; the son of the late William Samuel Hutchison and the late Ruby Leola Dennis Payne.

He was a former contractor. He was also a licensed Church of God minister, and a faithful member of New Hope Church of God in Maylene.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Sue Hutchison of Maylene; daughter, Natalin (Brian) Cleveland of Alabaster; son, Dennis (Angela) Hutchison of Alabaster; son, Jaye (Suzanne) Hutchison of Maylene; son, Jarrett (Jacie) Hutchison of Jemison; son, Tony Dale (Kim) Payne of Maylene; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Juanita (Vernon) Bishop of Gallant; brother, Bill (Betty) Hutchison of Pelham; and brother, David Hutchison of Pelham.

He is preceded in death by his father, Sam (Mae) Hutchison; mother, Ruby Payne; brothers, Buddy Hutchison, Butch Hutchison, and Ronnie Weldon; and sister, Donnie Collum.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 7 after 6 p.m. at New Hope Church of God in Maylene. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8 at 10 a.m. from the New Hope Church of God with Rev. Roger Abernathy, Rev. Jeff Holsomback, and Rev. Earl Vinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Still Memorial Cemetery in Alabaster.
