COLUMBIANA – Alabama Power’s Columbiana office is among 40 business offices the company is closing this summer.
“Alabama Power continues to adapt to our customers’ changing preferences toward doing business electronically and through authorized payment locations by offering more convenient, self-service choices than ever before,” Keisa Sharpe, Alabama Power’s public information representative for the Birmingham division, wrote in an email June 10. “To more effectively serve our customers’ evolving needs, we are better positioning our operations by combining selected business offices and Appliance Centers across our service territory.”
Alabama Power operates 86 offices, and after closings are completed, will have 46 offices available to serve customers, in addition to the more than 2,500 authorized payment locations the company has added at local retailers since 2017.
Locations include Walmart, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Fred’s and Piggly Wiggly. Customers can find the locations nearest them at alabamapower.com/payinperson.
