CHELSEA – With the 2019 football season nearing, several cities will participate in scrimmages and fan days leading up to their first game of the year, and on Saturday, Aug. 10, the Chelsea Hornets will host Blue-White Day at Chelsea High School.

The event will start at 9 a.m. and will go throughout the day until the high school’s varsity and junior varsity teams close the day at 7 p.m. with a scrimmage.

At the event, fans, family and friends will be introduced to each Chelsea team starting at 9 a.m. with kindergarten and first grade teams. Following that, each hour will feature a new age group of teams, including second and third, fourth and fifth, fourth grade tackle, sixth grade tackle, Chelsea Middle School teams, the Chelsea High School freshman team and the junior varsity and varsity teams.

Each grade level’s cheerleaders will also participate in the event, while the band will perform at 6:40 p.m. ahead of the varsity and junior varsity practice.

Admission to the event will cost $5 for an all-day scrimmage pass, while kids 5 and under get in free. All proceeds from the all-day pass will benefit the 2019 Chelsea High School football program.

You’ll also be able to purchase barbecue sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, shave ice, smoothies and other concessions, as well as 2019 Chelsea Hornet merchandise.

In addition to that, an inflatable slide will be set up for all kids to enjoy for an additional $5.

The event is meant to be family friendly for those interested in supporting the community and spending the day getting to see the 2019 Chelsea football teams.
