HELENA – Current Miss Alabama winner and Helena native Tiara Pennington will be honored by her hometown with a meet and greet event this weekend and the organizers of the reception are encouraging everyone to come out to attend the event.
The event, dubbed “Tiara Pennington Day,” will take place Sunday, Aug. 11 from 2-4 p.m. at Helena City Hall. The event will take place after the Helena City Council recently passed a resolution naming Aug. 11 “Tiara Pennington Day.”
The public is invited to attend as Pennington will be on hand to sign autographs and take photos as she prepares to represent Helena and the state of Alabama at the Miss America 2020 pageant later this year.
Pennington’s latest accomplishment was being crowned Miss Alabama on June 8, at the Wright Center on the campus of Samford University.
Pennington’s other accomplishments include being named Miss Alabama’s Outstanding Teen for 2016, a top 11 finish at Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2017 pageant, Miss University of Alabama and more.
