Walk On’s Bistreaux and Bar to open Dec. 9

HOOVER – Walk On’s Bistreaux and Bar will open its Hoover location on Dec. 9 at 6404 Tattersall Park Drive at the intersection of Alabama 119 and U.S. 280.
“We’re excited about our new location and invite everyone to visit us and try our menu items,” said managing partner Michael Miller. “Southern Louisiana is the basis of our menu, and the chain originated in Baton Rouge. But we’ll also serve appetizers, salads, sandwiches, soups and pastas.”
Miller, who lives in Homewood, said the new Hoover restaurant will be number 33 in the regional chain.
“We’re all over the Southeast,” he said. “We have restaurants in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Florida and North Carolina. We’re soon expanding to Arkansas and to College Station, Texas.”
The restaurant will cater to “family and sports,” Miller said.
“I think we’re probably 50/50 between a family restaurant and a sports bar,” he said. “We’re very family and kid friendly with a game room for entertainment.”
Miller said Walk On’s will eventually have the “Waitr” app for ordering online, but for now he invites residents to come in and look over the menu. The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Miller said the restaurant had a “Social Media Night” on Nov. 21.
“We invited bloggers, radio stations and users of Instagram, Snapchat and other social media to this preview night,” he said. “We showed off our building and brought out a bit of our food and beverages. Everyone had a good time.”
Miller said the U.S. 280 location is closer to Greystone and that’s actually what they’re calling it.
“We’re in the new Publix shopping area, but we plan to open another restaurant on Stadium Trace in Hoover within the next year,” he said.
