Chelsea Masonic Lodge awards 2020 scholarships
CHELSEA – Chelsea Masonic Lodge No. 886 honored its 2020 scholarship recipients at a dinner and presentation on Thursday, June 4.
Chelsea High School seniors Bailey McIntyre and Cody Suggs each received a $1,000 scholarship to use at the colleges of their choice.
“We’ve always presented them at the school on awards day, but since there wasn’t an awards day this year, we decided to present them at the lodge,” Chelsea Masonic Lodge Master Edmond Lane said, and added students’ families also attended the presentation.
The scholarships were presented as the Don King Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Tim Carter Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of former lodge members who have passed away.
The group has partnered with Chelsea High School to award scholarships to two graduating seniors annually for the last several years.
“We thank everybody for their participation and attendance,” Lane said. “Congratulations to the recipients. We hope that the way ahead is even brighter with this scholarship being the foundation of your future success.”
