Peggy Stone Weatherspoon, age 91, of Fourmile, Alabama, passed away on November 18, 2023. A visitation was held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Bolton Funeral Home. A funeral service followed at 2:00 PM. Rev. Roger Chambers and Rev. Neil Honea presided. She was laid to rest at Fourmile Cemetery.

Peggy was born on December 26, 1931, to Irvin and Eunice Stone. Peggy graduated from Shelby County High School in Columbiana, Alabama, in 1950.

Peggy met her husband, Jack, when her brother Hugh brought him home from the Army. Peggy and Jack did not have any children but helped raise many nieces and nephews.

Peggy worked 19 years for South Highland Hospital, and she and Jack ran a refrigerator/maintenance business while they resided in Homewood, Alabama.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband: Jack; her brothers: Hugh (Mertice), Kelly (Rena), Jack (Edna), Joe, and Keith; her sisters: Thelma Payne (Freeman), and Tommy Liles (Sam); and her brother-in-law Charles Payne.

Peggy is survived by her sister: Joyce Payne; her sister-in-law: Terry Stone; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Peggy was originally a member of Fourmile Baptist Church in Fourmile, Alabama. She was baptized and became a member of Five Mile Primitive Baptist Church in January 2023.

Peggy enjoyed traveling and spending time on the river with friends and family.
