HOOVER – A bakery business known for its rotating selection of flavorful, freshly baked gourmet cookies is now open on the U.S. 280 corridor in Greystone near the intersection of Alabama 119.

The new location of Crumbl Cookies at 5403 U.S. 280 began serving customers on Friday morning, Dec. 15, at 8 a.m., marking the second location in Shelby County with the other located in the Colonial Promenade in Alabaster.

Owners Jason and Rebecca Dickey are planning a grand opening event with multiple prize drawings and festivities.

“With every purchase, you get a raffle ticket to be entered in a drawing to win free cookies for a year,” Rebecca Dickey said.

Crumbl Greystone is the couple’s fourth Birmingham location. They opened their first Crumbl location two-and-a-half years ago in Vestavia Hills, followed by locations in Alabaster and Mountain Brook.

For the Dickeys and their four children, the chance to open another location in the Birmingham area was an exciting one that they couldn’t pass up.

“We’re a local family,” Rebecca said. “We just like to help people make meaningful moments with those that matter the most.”

The new location is years in the making for the couple, who have been seeking the right spot along the U.S. 280 corridor to serve residents of Shelby County. A big reason for the excitement to open in the area was the busy traffic that the highway sees on a daily basis with commuters to and from work, residents and shoppers.

“We always wanted to be on 280, where the people move back and forth and commute,” Rebecca said. “They can just grab it on their way to the office or grab it on their way home to their family. That’s why we chose that area—to be accessible and to be able to make peoples’ day.”

The Greystone location will also have a first in the state of Alabama compared to others.

According to Rebecca, Crumbl Greystone is the first location in the state that will have a drive-thru.

“It’s a very commuter area, so we have put in a drive-thru here,” she said. “There aren’t very many all across the country, so it is a specialty.”

For anyone who is not familiar with Crumbl, Rebecca described it as an “in-store, fresh bakery” that serves made-from-scratch cookies daily.

“We serve six rotating flavors,” she said. “We have over 300 flavors that we offer, but they rotate weekly. We usually say your taste buds will never get tired.”

Store hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 8 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. Crumbl is closed on Sunday.

Customers can download the Crumbl app and select the delivery option. Crumbl also offers catering and personal and corporate gift options.
