PELHAM – The Alabama State Evangelism Conference is held at various churches across the state each year, and this year, the worship event will be held locally at First Baptist Church of Pelham Sunday, Jan. 28 through Monday, Jan. 29.

The annual conference features speakers from across the state of Alabama, which will also include FBC Pelham Associate Pastor Donnie Sisk during this year’s conference.

“It’s always exciting, it’s a great time of year,” Sisk said. “We get to see other pastors and church members from across the state.”

This will be the third time Pelham has hosted the conference after previous success and this year’s should mark another successful event. Sisk said they are expecting an amazing turnout that could include anywhere from 400-700 people.

Sisk expressed his excitement to worship alongside fellow church members and pastors from across the state. Pastor Herb Reavis from North Jacksonville Baptist Church is one of many guest speakers who will be in attendance.

In a video posted by the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, Reavis shared his excitement in looking forward to this year’s upcoming conference.

“It’s going to be a great time of inspiration, a great time of motivation and a great time of worship,” he said in his message to those interested in attending.

On Monday, Jan. 29 there will be a free luncheon where Reavis will be giving a keynote message to those in attendance. There is no registration or admission fee required.

“It’s a good line up of speakers and everybody is invited to join us,” Sisk said. “We would love for folks to come and join us.”

The conference will begin at 5:15 p.m. on Sunday and go into the evening. On Monday, the first worship time will begin at 8:15 a.m. and wrap up with the luncheon at noon.

If you are unable to attend in person, but still want to attend the conference, Sunday evening and Monday morning sessions will be live streamed at live.alsbom.org.

Other speakers include New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Leavell College President Jamie Drew, New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Pastor Reginal Calvert, Shades Mountain Baptist Church Pastor Emeritus Charles Carter, Southwestern Seminary Professor of Evangelism Matt Queen and Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions Rob Jackson.

Sunday will feature music to kick off the event followed by praise and worship throughout the night intertwined with music, speakers and prayer. Monday will follow the same schedule as they have more speakers and musicians.
