HELENA – On Sunday, March 17 from 2:30-4 p.m., the Helena Belles will host their fifth annual tea party at the Church at Old Town. A portion of all ticket sales will be donated to Vineyard Family Services.

Open to children from pre-K to fifth grade, the tea party will feature dancing, crafts and conversation with members of the Helena Belles. The cost of attendance is $25 per child. Parents can stay and enjoy the event with their children or drop off their child and return after the tea.

According to Helena Belles Director Amanda Smitherman, guests will enjoy tea, delicious treats and one-on-one time with the Helena Belles.

“It has become something that the Belles truly look forward to every season,” Smitherman said. “It is our hope that it can become a beloved tradition that brings together the community in a celebration of elegance and camaraderie.”

This year, the Helena Belles tea party will raise money for Vineyard Family Services (VFS). According to their website, VFS is a faith based family resource center that feeds kids in need, promotes responsible fatherhood and helps families in crisis.

“Vineyard Family Services is an amazing organization,” Smitherman said. “The Belles volunteer there often helping with their Backpack Buddies program. That is why they are our charity of choice this year and a portion of our ticket sales will be going as a donation to VFS.”

Composed of girls between ninth and 12th grade, the Helena Belles are a community service organization that represents the city of Helena at various functions throughout the year. According to Smitherman, members are selected based on their leadership, academic achievements and involvement in extracurricular activities.

“They embody the spirit of Helena through their dedication to service, academic excellence and commitment to upholding the values of their community,” Smitherman said.
