NORTH SHELBY – Residents lined up in anticipation with the hope of getting their own fresh cookies as a new location of Cookie Fix officially opened its doors on U.S. Highway 280.

The new Greystone location of Cookie Fixed opened on Wednesday, March 27 at 5357 U.S. Highway 280, Suite 101 where Krispy Kreme was formally located. The new location marks the first to open in Shelby County after the local chain has found success in Hoover and Vestavia.

Manager Fatima Maldonado greeted and welcomed in excited customers to the establishment after officially opening the doors to the public. Maldonado spoke on what it’s like to finally see the business open and ready after months of preparation.

“It’s been exciting,” she said. “I learned about this last year and it was something that was proposed to me and back then it wasn’t real yet. Then around summer, that’s when we (got) the building and started seeing the vision. So now that it’s here and decorated and put up well, it feels real now.”

Cookie Fix was started by its CEO Amy Jason, who opened the first location in November of 2016 at 18th Street in Homewood.

Cookie Fix delivers dozens of variations of cookies from its rotating menu that features more than 100 flavors. Each location’s focus is on its recipes and baking process which leads to its signature style.

“The most important thing is we always want a cookie that’s crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside,” Maldonado said.

The Cookies are baked fresh each day and the menu routinely rotates with changes occurring daily, weekly, monthly and seasonally. On opening day, the business featured 12 different flavors, including five star, lemon blondie, chocolate chip, salted dark chocolate caramel, lemon tea cake, funfetti, triple chocolate chip, peanut butter Oreo, chocolate chip pecan, blondie crunch, healthy peanut butter and kitchen sink.

In addition to the freshly baked cookies, the business also offers seasonal desserts, cold milk and frozen cookie dough for residents to prepare at home. Customers can order their own set of cookies in a variety of packaging options, including kraft boxes, cookie tins, cookie cellos and catering trays.

One way the new Greystone location sets itself apart is through the other tasteful offerings on the other side of the building in Super Chix which is set to officially open on April 11. Super Chix is known for its chicken and custard and the restaurant duo will provide customers with an opportunity to shop at both businesses within the convenience of a single location.

Cookie Fix is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The business can be reached at 205-238-5317 or greystone@cookiefix.com. Those interested in learning more about Cookie fix may visit its website at Cookiefix.com
