COLUMBIANA – On Friday, April 5, Cornerstone Christian School and Bethel Baptist Church will present the inaugural outing of Charger Palooza in an attempt to raise awareness of the school and to foster local connections in the community.

The event, which will take place at the school located at 24975 AL Highway 25, will begin in the late afternoon and run from 6-9 p.m. While it is the first time the event is being held, it is being organized with the intention of becoming a new annual event for the institution.

“So many people that our staff talk to don’t know that Cornerstone Christian School exists, even though we have been around since 1997,” CCS Administrative Assistant Christina Benz said. “Our goal is to let the community know about this well-kept secret and to have a fun family evening (while doing so).”

Event organizers emphasize that the celebration will include inflatables and a corn hole tournament to entertain the children and will also feature vendor stalls allowing for the display and sale of a variety of local creations and talents.

In all, the event will include as many as 20 vendors and a petting zoo for the children to enjoy. The petting zoo will also have eggs for sale to those who are interested.

Food trucks will also be included in the lineup, with Billy’s Italian Ice, Sip Magnolia Lemon Aide, Ellis B’s, Traveling Tom’s Coffee and Fashion Taco all already among a growing number of food trucks scheduled for the event.

“Information about Cornerstone Christian School and Bethel Baptist Church will (also) be available,” Benz said. “But, even if they aren’t looking for a new school or church, we hope people come out for some fun.”

Friday, April 5, will also mark the opening day of the Cornerstone Christian School’s annual book fair.

Organizers encourage all who are interested in both the 2024 Charger Palooza and the CCS book fair or those with questions to call 205-669-7777.
