ALABASTER – Alabaster residents will have an opportunity to enjoy a leisurely stroll through the park during lunchtime at the city of Alabaster’s annual Walk in the Park.

The city will celebrate Walk at Lunch Day with its third annual Walk in the Park at Patriots Park on Wednesday, April 17. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature vendors, door prizes and giveaways from local businesses.

While the city’s main goal is to get the community out and moving, people in attendance will also be able to visit local fitness and health-wellness-related businesses. Gyms like Crunch Fitness and Gym Time will have a booth as well as family care services like Comfort Care and Brooklere Pharmacy.

Alabaster Community Programs Manager Morgan Lawley said the event is a fun way to get the community involved throughout the week.

“We were looking for a fun, new event,” Lawley said. “We were looking for a new way to get the community involved with an event.”

There will be around 10 to 15 local businesses set up with booths at the event, along with the food trucks.

Lawley said he hopes this event will offer a fun and relaxing atmosphere at Patriots Park for everyone in attendance to enjoy.

“We’re trying to do this event a little bit different than our others,” Lawley said. “This will be our first real event there, and I think it’s a great place to hold it.”
