CHELSEA – The Spain Park Jaguars had just one more test to overcome before they could walk into the regular season with a perfect record, and they passed it with flying colors.

Spain Park claimed a 4-0 win against the Chelsea Hornets on the road at Chelsea High School on Monday, April 22 in the regular season finale for the Jags.

In its most recent match, Spain Park secured its 20th straight win in a road test at Homewood as the Jags walked out of Waldrop Stadium with a 3-0 win.

That set up Spain Park with a chance to not only finish area play undefeated, but the regular season as well as it made the short trip over to Chelsea.

The Jags took the fight to the Hornets much like in their first encounter on March 14 and many of Spain Park’s matches throughout the season.

On offense, the Jags put four goals in the back of the net to establish a commanding multi-goal lead.

That was complemented by another standout defensive performance by Spain Park as it held Chelsea scoreless to secure its fourth straight clean sheet to close the regular season.

The Hornets held on and prevented a repeat of the Jags’ 5-0 win at home earlier in the season as they limited the damage to four goals this time out.

With that, Spain Park earned the 4-0 win to end the regular season 21-0.

The Jags will await the results out of Class 7A, Area 5 before learning who it will host at Spain Park High School in the first round of the Class 7A playoffs.

As for Chelsea, the 6-9-3 Hornets will wrap up the season with a home match against Stanhope Elmore on Wednesday, April 24 at 5 p.m. as they look to end the year on a high note.
