A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:11 p.m. on Thursday, April 25 in Shelby County, has claimed the life of a Sylacauga man.

Tyler A. Herrod, 30, was fatally injured when the 2022 Harley-Davidson FXST motorcycle he was operating struck the 2015 Chevrolet Express 2500 van driven by John D. Jackson, 53, of Pell City.

Herrod was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on Alabama 25 near the 160 mile marker, less than one mile west of Vandiver, in Shelby County. No further information is currently is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
