Leonard C. Burnett, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on April 25, 2024 at his home in Alabaster, Al. surrounded by his family.  Leonard was born on December 27,1947 to Thomas and Irene Burnett.  He was a loving husband to Carolyn Burnett for 59 years.  Leonard’s life was filled with love and dedication to his family as well as hard work.

Leonard loved spending time with his family making memories in the mountains and at the beach.  He loved his little dog, Jessie, and they often went for car rides together.

Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Irene Burnett; brother, Ricky Burnett; and sister, Dorothy Moreland.  He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Burnett; children, Lisa Burnett, Kathryn Peoples, and Jeffrey Burnett (Erica); sister, Shirley Vance; brothers, Mack Burnett and Donald Burnett (Debra); as well as 8 grandkids and 8 great-grandkids.

The family would like to thank the Aveanna Home Health Team and the New Beacon Hospice nurse that took great care of him.

A visitation for Leonard will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 HWY 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 11:00am at Shady Grove Baptist Church, HWY 139, Randolph Al. 36792.  Leonard will be laid to rest at Shady Grove Cemetery following the funeral service.  A reception will be held in the fellowship hall.
