MONTGOMERY – Seven soccer stars from around the county will put their skills on display against some of the best players in the state this summer thanks to their selections to the North-South All-Star Game.

Spain Park’s Addy Soehn, Briarwood’s Taylor Leib, Pelham’s Lacey Lambert and Westminster at Oak Mountain’s Lailie Parvin were named to the girls soccer North All-Stars when the rosters were announced on Monday, May 20.

On the boys roster, Oak Mountain’s Gabe Capocci, Briarwood’s Sawyer Felton and Westminster at Oak Mountain’s Aiden Gamble earned North All-Star spots as well.

The teams, which were selected by the Alabama High School Athletic Directors and Coaches Association, comprise the best rising seniors from around the state across all classifications.

Soehn starred in the midfield for the Spain Park Jaguars this season, coming up big with clutch goals to help power her team to a 21-0 regular season record and an area championship.

Leib was one of the biggest scoring threats across the entire state this past season as she racked up 42 goals for Briarwood as a junior. The Clemson commit also had eight assists as the Lions claimed the area title and made a run to the Class 6A state championship game.

Lambert has quickly established herself as one of the best defenders in the state as she anchored a young Pelham team and secured a Second Team All-Metro B-Division spot, one season removed from a First Team All-Metro and Second Team All-County year.

Westminster goalkeeper Parvin provided a steady presence in the net for the Knights as she helped her side win an area title and reach the Class 1A-3A quarterfinals.

On the boys side, Capocci helped control the midfield for an Oak Mountain team that had an undefeated 29-0-1 record and won a state championship. He finished the season with 10 goals, six assists and First Team spots on the All-State and All-Metro teams.

Briarwood’s Felton electrified the Lions offense en route to an area title. He received an All-Metro Second Team spot and an All-State Honorable Mention.

Gamble was selected as a defender for the North-South Game, but he regularly featured at forward for Westminster OM and tied the single-season school record for goals with 35. His 14 assists also helped the Knights reach the state title game and earn him First Team spot on the All-State and All-Metro teams.
