PELHAM – Following this year’s first successful outing of Movies Under the Stars, Pelham Parks and Recreation are already encouraging those in the community to prepare for the event’s sequel which is set for the second week in July.

Scheduled for Friday, July 12, Movies Under the Stars will return to the Pelham City Park, located at 2020 Pelham Park Boulevard, behind the sand volleyball pavilion, with another film showing that promises to provide yet another evening of outdoor entertainment and community bonding.

This event follows the first showing of the season, which took place on June 7 and featured “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.” For the July 12 event, attendees will once again be able to walk down a short red carpet and enter the park to view the 2023 film, “Migration” on a large inflatable screen.

The animated film—which features the celebrity voices of Awkwafina, Tresi Gazal, Kumail Nanjiani, Danny DeVito, Caspar Jennings and Elizabeth Banks—follows a family of ducks that wrongly end up in New York City when they depart their New England pond for a trip to Jamaica.

The film is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., but viewers are heavily encouraged to arrive early so that they can enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities and games which will take be available starting at 6:30 p.m.

Event organizers also encourage all viewers to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs to set up prior to the movie.

Local food trucks will be on-site throughout the event and will offer a variety of dining options before the movie begins.

As with the first event, Movies Under the Stars will be a free event that all in the community are welcome to attend.
