PELHAM – Young children in Pelham will soon have opportunities to enjoy two different and unique camps summer camps thanks to new offerings put together by Tippi Toes Birmingham—a local dance studio that seeks to instill confidence, positivity and joy into the lives of children.

While Tippi Toes Birmingham presents camps throughout the entire Birmingham-metro area, the organization will specifically present two camps at the Pelham Recreation Center this season, with the first—a Hawaiian-beach themed camp—set to take place Monday through Friday on June 24-28.

“Each day we will spend time hearing stories, creating Hawaiian-inspired crafts, singing, dancing, enjoying healthy snacks and dancing some more,” read a description of the event posted on Tippi Toes’ website. “Be sure your dancer brings a water bottle as we’re certain to get very thirsty. Dancers should wear comfy clothes they can easily move in.”

The Tippi Toes Beach Camp is open to both boys and girls and will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day. It is intended for children ages 3 1/2 to 7 years old. Although no special clothing or items are required, each child is encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle to encourage hydration throughout all activities.

Following that camp, Tippi Toes Birmingham will return to the Pelham Recreation Center in July in order to present the Tippi Toes Princess Camp from July 22-26.

During that camp, young girls will be treated with days of activities and imaginative exercises as they are taught what it is like to be a princess.

“From ballet magic to tiara-worthy crafts, your kiddos are in for a regal treat,” read the description for the event. “These camps are tailor-made for our awesome dancers of any skill level ages 4-7. We will play games, read and act out stories, make fun crafts such as magic wands and jeweled crowns and learn some fun dances.”

As with the beach camp, the second camp will also begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at noon each day.

Both camps require that children be registered prior to the event and involvement in either camp will cost a total of $200, which includes a $50 deposit. Children are not required to be, or become, Tippi Toes students to take part in the camps.

Registration forms for both camps can be found at Tippitoesdance.com/location/tippi-toes-birmingham.
