Sixty kids from Elvin HIll Elementary have registered for the Mercedes Kids Marathon and are running on team Elvin Hill. The kids will run 25.2 miles over the next 15 weeks during PE class at school. Coach Ashley Phillips scheduled the runs and is logging the miles for the kids.

On Feb. 10, the kids will run the last mile of the Mercedes Marathon in downtown Birmingham. Each child that completes the race will receive a Mercedes Kids Marathon medal and event t-shirt. Principal Betsy Hillman was excited to offer the program at Elvin Hill as a means of teaching kids the importance of exercise and good health.
