Edward Herman Booth, 85, of Montevallo died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005. He was the oldest of six born to Walter and Lillian Smith Booth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, W.T. Booth and Harold Booth, and a sister, Martha Owens. He attended Thompson High School and served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. In 1944, he was assigned as a military policeman in the Central European Theater where he guarded generals Patton and Eisenhower, serving with merit during the Battle of the Bulge.

He worked as a builder and contractor. He owned Central Construction Company that did commercial and residential building projects. He was an active member of the Ebenezer Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ellen L. Booth; two daughters, Lamoine B. (B.W.) Bramblett of Riverchase and Lynn B. (Burl) Robertson of Atlanta, Ga.; three sons, Eddy C. (Elaine) Booth of Montevallo, Walter C. (Carol) Booth of Alabaster and Danny C. (Mary) Booth of West Blocton; his brother, Cecil Booth of Pensacola, Fla.; his sister, Eva Clayton of Alabaster; his stepdaughter, Judy (Randy) Jennings of Corinth, Miss.; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Service was Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. at Charter Funeral Home, the Rev. Shelby Batson presiding. Burial followed in Ryan Baptist Church Cemetery in Maylene, Charter Funeral Home directing
