According to a survey by the city of Pelham, a majority of the more than 200 residents who responded feel traffic flow and road maintenance in the city is &uot;good.&uot;

If that does not represent your opinion, however, it’s not to late to express it, said Joey Hester, a planner for the Birmingham Regional Planning Commission.

He is hoping for a large turnout at two public involvement meetings in Pelham aimed at updating the city’s 25-year comprehensive plan.

The meetings, which will be held at city hall, are set for Thursday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 12, immediately following the planning commission meeting.

He said the answer to the traffic question was one of several that &uot;stuck out&uot; in the recent survey conducted by the city.

The survey was conducted on the city’s website, pelhamonline.com, as well as through the mail.

Hester, who will lead the meetings, said residents will have a chance to review the survey results that contain information on residents’ and business owners’ feelings toward city services and an array of other topics.

The meeting will also include studies of the city’s population, economy, land use, community facilities, transportation, environment and capital improvements.

&uot;What we want to take away from the first meeting is what the assets and liabilities are in Pelham. We want to let the residents comment, and that will lead into the second meeting,&uot; Hester said
