The Alabaster Beautification Board will hold a day of gardening and nature appreciation July 17 at Veterans Park.

The board will hold its 2010 Garden Tour of Alabaster from 9-11 a.m. at the park off Alabama 119.

During the tour, the board will lead a leisurely stroll throughout the park to admire Alabaster’s landscape and flowers.

A gardening specialist will be on hand throughout the tour to explain different flower types, answer questions and provide gardening tips.

The board is encouraging all Alabaster residents, especially all past and present Alabaster Beautification Board winners, to attend the tour.
