The Spain Park High School boys’ basketball team defeated Vestavia Hills 47-33 in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 12 tournament championship game Feb. 14 at Homewood High School.

Robby Prater led the Jaguars (23-8) with 14 points.

Rembert Martin added 13 points in the area tournament championship game.

Prater, Mitchell Holt and Steven Lawson were each named to the Class 6A, Area 12 all-tournament team.

The Jaguars will host Pelham in the sub-region round of the Class 6A playoffs Feb. 18 with a trip to the Northeast Regional on the line.

Spain Park is seeking its first trip the Northeast Regional since a run to the Class 6A Final Four during the 2006-2007 season.
