Spring football scrimmages kick off Thursday

The high school football spring scrimmage slate in Shelby County kicks off Thursday, May 12.

Spain Park High School, under the direction of new coach Chip Lindsey, will face Robert E. Lee High School of Montgomery in a scrimmage May 12 at 7 p.m.

Shelby County High School will travel to Vestavia Hills for the second year in a row in a scrimmage May 12 at 7 p.m.

Pelham High School will host Pell City in a scrimmage May 13 at 7 p.m. Montevallo High School will host St. Jude Catholic School of Montgomery in a scrimmage May 13 at 6 p.m.

Briarwood Christian School will host Oak Mountain High School in the only scrimmage between two Shelby County teams May 20 at 7 p.m.

Chelsea High School will host Pleasant Grove in a scrimmage May 20 at 7 p.m. The school will collect donations at the gate and will donate proceeds from the game to tornado relief efforts in Pleasant Grove.

Thompson High School, with new head coach Caleb Ross, will travel to Sylacauga for a scrimmage May 20 at 7 p.m.

Calera, under the direction of interim coach Wiley McKeller, will host Chilton County in a scrimmage May 20 at 7 p.m.
