The Vincent 12U All-Stars are currently working their way through the 2013 Dizzy Dean World Series in Southhaven, Miss.  Coached by Shawn Martin, the Yellow Jackets have posted a remarkable 77 home runs and outscored its opponents 481-167 while going 30-7 in the regular season.

The Vincent 12U All-Stars are currently working their way through the 2013 Dizzy Dean World Series in Southhaven, Miss.

Coached by Shawn Martin, the Yellow Jackets have posted a remarkable 77 home runs and outscored its opponents 481-167 while going 30-7 in the regular season.

The Yellow Jackets are playing in Bracket D of competition, and opened up with a 7-6 win over the Greenwood Allstars.

On July 21, the Jacket faced a formidable opponent in the Dayton Allstars. Dayton had opened the tournament by crushing Belle Chasse by a score of 23-0.

While Vincent fell, it were able to hold the high-octane offense of Dayton to 12, scoring 3 of its own in the process. They then were placed in the loser’s bracket, where they faced Belle Chasse.

Taking the field at 2 p.m. July 21, Vincent squared off with Belle Chasse in an elimination game. The Yellow Jackets pounced on BC 17-3, taking home the victory and the opportunity to keep playing.

As of press time, Vincent is headed into a rematch with Dayton, where they must win two straight to advance to the championship bracket. Check back with Shelbycountyreporter.com for updates on the team’s progress.
