Carleen Guthrie, born Feb. 10, 1932, was mercifully taken home to her Savior on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013. The sincere kindness and love she spread among her patients through her nursing career, church family, neighbors, friends and especially her family will carry on for many lifetimes. Not only was she humbly selfless, but a faithful, righteous woman who loved unconditionally and gave freely to all in need. As a woman who filled many roles, He is welcoming this precious angel home as she served every day in His light, glorifying Him through virtuous acts towards anyone whom she met.

Carleen is survived by her four daughters, Karen Staab (Kerry), Lynn Bradshaw (William), Paula Lowery and Pamela Lucas (Jeff); grandchildren, Gabriel McCarty (Natalie), Billy Jo Bradshaw, Aaron Staab (Shaina), Julynn Bradshaw, Jacob Bradshaw, Adrian Gray (Dustin), Ethan Staab and Olivia Lowery; great-grandchildren, Balyn and Brock McCarty, Slade Knight, Carter Laster and Sophia Staab; three sisters, Josephine Moody, Cheryl Rogers and Jennifer Zurita; and countless loved ones also remain to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her precious son, Michael Hawkins Guthrie; and loving husband, Julian Guthrie (Pete).

Viewing services will be held at Rockco Funeral Home on Oct. 1 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will occur Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. at FUMC and will be officiated by Dr. Brian Wyatt, Rev. Buddy Freeman and Rev. Mike Ratliff. Burial will follow at the Montevallo Cemetery. Services directed by Rockco Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Montevallo Fire and Rescue Department in her honor at Montevallo City Hall.
