Meet Lily and George.

Lily (contributed)

Lily is a calm and gentle 2-month-old, medium-haired kitten. This adorably fluffy girl quietly watches everything going on around her as if she is studying just what people are all about. She seems to find people-watching as the perfect activity between cat naps. Lily will win you over with one curious look and one purr. Since she is a kitten, she will adjust easily into most families.

George is a 1-year-old, beagle-terrier mix. This squatty fellow weighs about 26 pounds. He is ready to play and to learn new things. Though he does not seem to like the company of cats, he has never found a person he didn’t want to meet and is enjoying his foster family’s other dogs. George is in Shelby Humane’s Adoption Ambassador Program, where a foster family takes home an adoption-ready pet to keep it out of the stressful shelter environment and helps it find a new forever home. Meet and greets with this bundle of happiness can easily be arranged by the adoption team.

For more information on these two amazing pets, contact an adoption counselor by email at Mwayman@shelbyhumane.org or call 205-669-3916 ext. 22. To see the large variety of adoptable cats and dogs at Shelby Humane Society, visit Tuesday through Saturday from 12-5:30 p.m. You can also follow SHS on Facebook and at Shelbyhumane.org.
