First Baptist Church of Pelham, in partnership with the worship ministry at First Baptist Church of Clanton, presents its Christmas program, “Christmas Lights,” on Dec. 8 with two services in its sanctuary at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

More than 100 voices and a 25-member orchestra will present the life, death and resurrection of Jesus through song, drama, live video and photos. The entire sanctuary will come alive with candles, lights and images from environmental projectors showing a global celebration of the life of Jesus.

“The beauty of the season is represented by Christmas lights,” said Paula Kornegay, worship leader at First Baptist Pelham. “The theme is fitting for our program for Jesus is the light of the world.”

It’s the mission of First Baptist Pelham to share the Gospel of Jesus and minister

to the community. Through its 85-plus year history, the membership and reach into the community has grown and is reflected in the expanded facilities on Pelham Parkway.

“By sharing the Gospel, we’re sharing hope,” Kornegay said. “With all the uncertainties surrounding our lives today, there’s a peace in knowing there’s a place to find comfort, acceptance, and purpose. We view the church as more than just four walls; we are a gift to the Lord for His glory and a gift to the community.”

First Baptist Church of Clanton will host the Christmas program on Dec. 1 at 6 p.m.

“We invite all those in the Pelham community and surrounding areas to the Christmas program,” Kornegay said. “From our church family to all, Merry Christmas!”
