MONTEVALLO — Montevallo police are investigating a Jan. 20 shooting that has left a woman in serious condition at an area hospital.

Montevallo Police Chief Jeremy Littleton said in a Jan. 21 phone interview that officers responded to reports of shots fired around 10:30 p.m. at Falcon Manor Apartments in the 200 block Overland Road.

Littleton said the victim suffered a single gunshot wound. He would not disclose the location of the wound or what kind of weapon was used.  Littleton also would not disclose the victim’s identity.

“We are attempting to locate witnesses as well as suspects,” Littleton said, adding that the shooting possibly stemmed from an argument.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Montevallo Police Department at (205) 665-1264.
