ALABASTER – Crews with the Wiregrass Construction Company soon will move forward with repaving portions of several Alabaster streets after the Alabaster City Council named the company to the project during a June 23 meeting.

The council voted during the meeting to accept a $272,405 bid from the company to repave several roads in need of repair. The repaving project will be funded with gas tax money, which is already included in the city’s budget and can only be used to improve streets.

Alabaster will repave the following roads and subdivisions:

-Lacey’s Grove

-Cross Creek

-Lake Ridge

-Seams Way – Wynlake

-Plaza Circle

-Glenn Abbey Way

-Chestnut Drive (downhill slope)

-Winterhaven Drive (to complete loop)

-Tahiti Terrace (several failed areas out to Caribbean)

-Portions of Scottsdale

-Woodland Hills – Red Oak

-Hickory Street (section from Oak down to cul-de-sac)

-Fifth Court Northwest and Fifth Avenue Northwest

-10th Avenue Southeast (U.S. 31 to Old Highway 31)

-Arrow Drive (Section from Shelby County 95 up hill toward Navajo Trail)

-11th Street Southwest and Third Avenue Southwest up to 12th Street Southwest

Wiregrass also will complete repaving projects on Stadium Drive and in the parking lot of Thompson High School, both of which will be funded by the Alabaster Board of Education.
