A Montevallo woman has pleaded guilty to 15 counts of producing child pornography in U.S. District Court in Birmingham.

Christine Staggs McKim, 24, and James Shawn Hulsey, 43, also of Montevallo, produced “images of child pornography that depicted a female child, who was only months old, and a male child, who was less than two years old being used to engage in sexually explicit conduct with the defendants,” according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The incidents occurred in Bibb and Shelby counties in 2004 and 2006.

McKim’s sentencing is set for June 29 at 3 p.m. She faces 15 to 30 years in prison.

Hulsey was sentenced to 480 years in prison last December after pleading guilty to 16 counts of producing child pornography.

The case was investigated by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Project Safe Childhood, an initiative to protect children from online exploitation and abuse, was also active in the case, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
