Shelby Academy’s AISA Class 1A boys’ basketball state championship team was honored at the school with a breakfast March 5.

Shelby Academy headmaster Steve Zaslofky, athletic director Shannon Jones and the SA Booster Club hosted the event for the team, cheerleaders and local leaders.

Special guests in attendance were Calera Mayor-Elect Jon Graham, Montevallo Mayor Ben McCrory, Chilton County Probate Judge Bobby Martin, Connita Turner of the Calera Chamber of Commerce, Shelby Academy Board members Gloria Haygood, Rodney Glass, Cindy Wingard and Renae Boothe. SA alum Vic Baker presented an Alabama Senate resolution on behalf of State Senator Hank Erwin.
