Cornerstone Christian School’s Cory Woodall was selected as the Army Iron Man of the Week. The award, presented by the U.S. Army Montgomery Recruiting Battalion, is voted on by fans to select the best two-way high school football player in Alabama each week.

Woodall, a junior, was nominated for the honor after rushing for 95 yards Friday and leading Cornerstone past Sumter, 27-17, by scoring the go-ahead touchdown on a 65-yard kickoff return. He also rushed for a 68-yard touchdown. On defense he had nine tackles.

The award makes Woodall eligible for the Army Iron Man of the Year Award, which is also determined by a fan vote. Players are nominated by fans, coaches, athletic directors and the media by noon each Monday during the regular season and are voted on at www.thesportsflash.com. The Army Man of the Year winner receives a championship quality ring from Jostens.
