Join Hoover’s Dad Brigade

Dad Brigade

Join father figures from around Hoover to improve local elementary schools.

The Hoover City Dad Brigade will be Aug. 1 at 6:45 a.m.

The kick-off will be at the Home Depot in front of the Galleria. There will be breakfast provided, and Mayor Gary Ivey will be in attendance.

Derrick Murphy, the newly elected president of the Hoover Board of Education, created the Hoover City Dad Brigade to rally father figures together in the community.

Below is a list of work that will be performed during the Hoover City Dad Brigade:

– Pressure washing sidewalks and courtyards

– Building picnic tables

– Painting classrooms, hallways and railing

– Sanitizing playground equipment

– Constructing flowerbeds

– Planting flowers

– Sprucing up gardens

– Assembly bookshelves

– Picking up trash off neighboring roadways

– Moving furniture

– Repairing miscellaneous item

There are approximately 250 dads and high school boys signed up, and more are expected to walk-up during the kick-off at Home Depot.

Sponsors and Material Donors include Home Depot, Chick-fil-A, Alabama Rentals, Backus Orthodontics, Stone & Sons, Sportclips-The Grove, Several Hoover City Schools PTO’s and Dan Fulton (retired Jefferson County teacher).
