McDougal named Miss Outstanding Teen 2012

The Miss Shelby County Outstanding Teen 2012 Pageant was held Saturday, Sept. 10. May Ann McDougal was crowned Miss Shelby County Outstanding Teen 2012 at Mt Laurel Elementary School on Sept. 10.

Miss Alabama’s Outstanding Teen 2011 Mi’a Callens and Miss Shelby County 2012 Sydii Todd crowned McDougal, a 15-year-old sophomore at Oak Mountain High School.

The Outstanding Teen program is affiliated with the Miss Alabama and Miss America organizations, the largest scholarship program for women in the world.

Other winners include:

• First runner-up – Grace Kurosaka, Jefferson County Baccalaureate School;

• Second runner-up – Madison Brown, Calera High School;

• Third runner-up – Audra Daniels, Chelsea High School;

• Fourth runner-up – Brooke Patton, Thompson High School;

• Talent and lifestyle awards – Madison Brown, Calera High School.

Callens and Todd emceed the event. Haley Spates Mims, a former Miss Shelby County and Miss Alabama, directed the pageant.
